Counted from Corporate Registration, published daily by District of Columbia Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection. Entities on file with the DC Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection, Corporations Division. Our search covers records the register currently shows as Active — both in good standing and not in good standing. Revoked, dissolved, withdrawn, merged, canceled, terminated, domesticated, converted and consolidated records are held but not served.

A registry status is a legal fact about an entity’s filings, not evidence that it is trading. DC revokes an entity’s authority for missed filings — the majority of the full DC file is revoked records — so a company that is still operating may have dropped out of the records served here, which cover only what DC currently shows as Active.

A name reaches this page only when it is organization-shaped and on file for 200 or more entities in this register — both conditions, so no person is listed by volume alone and no small firm by name alone. Person-named agents are never listed, regardless of volume, and an agent under the bar is absent from these figures rather than counted in them. Counts are floors: District of Columbia files the same agent under varying punctuation and spelling, and variants merge only where the difference is mechanical.
